چکیده
An optical neural network is proposed and demonstrated with programmable matrix transformation nonlinear activation function of photodetection (square-law detection). Based on discrete phase-coherent spatial modes, the dimensionality operations 30~37, which implemented by light modulators. With this architecture, all-optical classification tasks handwritten digits, objects depth images are performed same platform high accuracy. Due to parallel nature multiplication, processing speed our architecture potentially as as7.4T~74T FLOPs per second (with 10~100GHz detector)

Programmable All-Fiber Optical Pulse Shaping
Techniques for the precise synthesis and control of the temporal shape of optical pulses with durations in the picosecond and sub-picosecond regimes have become increasingly important for a wide range of applications in such diverse fields as ultrahigh-bit-rate optical communications (Parmigiani et al., 2006; Petropoulos et al., 2001; Oxenlowe et al., 2007; Otani et al., 2000), nonlinear optics...
متن کاملA ternary programmable dispersion matrix for receive/transmit optical beamforming
We present a new architecture for a programmable dispersion matrix for optical beamforming. A 2-channel prototype is constructed to demonstrate beam steering for angles of ± 70 in the receive/transmit mode in RF 0.1-1 GHz frequency range.
متن کاملAll-optical switching with transverse optical patterns
We demonstrate an all-optical switch that operates at ultra-low-light levels and exhibits several features necessary for use in optical switching networks. An input switching beam, wavelength , with an energy density of 10−2 photons per optical cross section = 2 / 2 changes the orientation of a two-spot pattern generated via parametric instability in warm rubidium vapor. The instability is indu...
متن کاملAll-optical switching with bacteriorhodopsin
All-optical, mirrorless switching and bistability is demonstrated with bacteriorhodopsin (bR). A low-power, 532 nm laser beam modulates the transmission of a cw laser beam at 635 nm that corresponds to peak absorption of the Oexcited state in the bR photocycle. The switch has features like a NOT-gate; its switching contrast depends on the pulse width and average power of the modulating laser. T...
